Overview:

In this tutorial, we’ll guide you through the process of inviting members to your project in Sourcery. This will allow team members, clients, agents, or reps to collaborate on live product information seamlessly.

Step 1: Understand the Purpose

  1. Single Source of Truth:
Sourcery is designed to be a single source of truth for all your team members, clients, agents, and reps, enabling them to communicate and collaborate over live product information.

  2. Key Features:
Sourcery includes features like AI chat, which allows you to look up reps for verified products and invite them into your project for collaboration.

Step 2: Access the Sharing Menu

  1. Navigate to the Share Icon:
On the lower left-hand side of the screen, click the share icon to open the sharing menu.

Step 3: Invite Members

  1. Add Email Addresses:
In the sharing dialog that appears, enter the email addresses of the individuals you’d like to invite to your project.

  2. Commit Email Addresses:
After typing each email address, hit "Enter" to commit it to the field. You can add multiple email addresses by repeating this process.

Step 4: Set Permissions

  1. Set Permissions:

    • Viewer: This role offers the lowest level of access, allowing users to view and comment but not edit.
    • Editor: This role allows users to edit the project temporarily.
    • Creator: This is the highest level of access, reserved for team members who need full permissions, including adding and deleting projects and members.
    • Admin: Admins have full control, including inviting new members and managing workspace settings.
  2. Enter a Welcome Message:
Add a brief message to the invite, such as "Can you give me some help with pricing on this project?"

  3. Send the Invitation:
Once you've set the permissions and added your message, click "Send."

Step 5: Confirming Permissions

  1. Review the Permission Warning:
If you've chosen a permission level that allows editing, Sourcery will give you a final warning. Confirm that you’re okay with the invitee having editing access by clicking "Ok."

Step 6: Understand the Invitee Experience

  1. Invitee’s Inbox:
The invitee will receive a simple, easy-to-understand email with a link that takes them directly to the project.

  2. Start the Conversation:
Once the invitee has accepted, you can start communicating within the project by using the commenting windows. For example, you might enter "@[email protected] I need a budget price on this."

Step 7: Inviting Users Without a Sourcery Account

  1. Invite New Users:
If the person you’re inviting doesn’t have a Sourcery account, you’ll need to input their email, set their role (e.g., "Editor"), and send a message such as "Welcome to Sourcery! - I need some help, don't worry it is free to sign up!"

  2. Onboarding Process:
The new user will receive an email with a temporary password and a link to log in. They’ll be prompted to reset their password and then guided through a brief welcome video that shows them the basics of using Sourcery.

Conclusion:

Congratulations! You've now completed the basic tutorial on how to invite members into a project, as well as gained insight into their user experience when you invite them. Thank you, and let’s start saving time!
